*Please note that rate for each service is listed as a range because every project is different. Your final quote will depend on me reviewing a sample of your project to get an idea of the complexity of your work. There is a 1,000-word minimum per project.

Service Descriptions

Line Editing

Makes sure every sentence belongs. Focuses on style and phrasing at the sentence level.

Copyediting

Finds all those pesky grammatical errors. Checks that spelling, punctuation, and usage is consistent throughout the manuscript.

Proofreading

The final polish before publication. This is the service for you if you’ve already had your novel copyedited.

Developmental Editing

The big-picture look at your novel. Best done before you have anyone copyedit your work.

A developmental edit will:

Assess your main character's internal and external arc.
Ensure that your character's goals and motivations align with the plot.
Review plot points and look for any dropped threads.
Find undeveloped gems hidden in your manuscript.
Identify areas where motivation or conflict could be enhanced.
Suggest ways to strengthen themes.
Clarify scenes so the reader experiences what you want them to.

Above all, a developmental edit respects your voice. The point is to polish the novel so it says what you want it to, in a way that sounds like you.

A read-through of your book to check that LGTBQIA+ issues are handled with care and do not cause offense.
